心x聆 - 我們的計畫 Heart To Hear - Our Plan

我們成立心x聆的宗旨在於服務香港失聰/聽力障礙的朋友們，讓我們看看心x聆所統計的資料和我們在香港最先安排的計畫吧。

We established Heart To Hear is to serve deaf/ hearing impaired people in Hong Kong. Let's look at the statistics that we found and our first planning in Hong Kong.

統計結果 STATISTICS

香港目前有大於15萬的失聰/聽力障礙朋友們，這佔全世界失聰人口的2.1%，

而其中有超過80%的朋友是老年人口(60歲以上)。

報告顯示未經治療的聽力受損會降低老年人對日常生活的自理能力，降低了他們生活的品質，更與社會孤立有很大的關係，而低收入限制了他們的認知功能和身心健康。他們常常感到被社會排擠的同時又需承擔鉅額的助聽器與醫療費用。

There are currently more than 150 000 deaf/hard-of-hearing persons in Hong Kong. This is more than 2.1% of the total population and over 80% of them are elderly persons (aged 60 or above).

Studies have shown that untreated hearing loss reduces older adults’ ability to carry out everyday tasks, reduces their quality of life, and is linked to social isolation, lower income, reduced cognitive function and poorer physical and psychological health. They often feel excluded from the society while having to bear the extortionate hearing aid and medical cost.

解決辦法 SOLUTIONS

我們立志運用先進的科技技術來透過各種方式讓聽力受損的朋友們融入社會:

1. 透過 “寂靜世界” 的街頭攤位，利用抗噪技術讓路人們體驗聽力受損的感覺。

2. 提供使用科技的教學課程來輔助聽力 – 運用手機軟體的課程如Pedius, Google Live Transcribe, Sound Alert, Tunity。

3. 將手語納入香港的學術性課程的請願活動。

4. 提供增加就業機會的訓練。

5. 舉辦慈善活動如步行馬拉松和賣旗籌款來募款幫助那些無法購買助聽器的朋友們

6. 對因聽力而被社會孤立的老年人進行家庭訪問。

7. 與社交軟體的提倡者(如Chella Man, Nyle Dimarco)合作來提升少數群體的發言權

We aim to leverage the advancement in technology to integrate those suffering from hearing loss into the society through various means:

1. Conducting “A Silent World” Street Booth by utilising noise cancellation technology to let pedestrians experience how loss of hearing feelings like.

2. Provide training on utilising technology to aid hearing - courses on using mobile applications such as Pedius, Google Live Transcribe, Sound Alert, Tunity.

3. Petition for including Sign Language into HK academic curriculum.

4. Provide training on skills to increase employment opportunities.

5. Charitable events such as walkathons and flag-selling to gather fundings to support those who cannot afford a hearing aid.

6. Home-visits to elderly who are isolated with the society due to difficulties with hearing.

7. Collaborate with social Media advocates (e.g. Chella Man, Nyle Dimarco) to increase representation of this minority group.
